HV makes the CCShell go

Posted 10-28-2013 at 07:11 AM by sabahtom

DMOC and CCShell work ok with HV and a stable 12v supply. I'm using the lead acid battery from another car.

Had to disable the CHARGED_ERROR fault, but it seems to persist even though the DMOC is presently resting on a bare metal frame and has a the spec grounding strap fitted. The manual says this error/parameter were removed in later versions so I guess it was too annoying to try to get it right, even in the factory.

Arc 1 Conversion Journal 10/1/2013 Big EV Grin

Posted 10-01-2013 at 10:03 PM by AviatorBJP

So, this is only my third blog entry, and my car has been done for a month! I am not a very good documentarian... Sorry. My car is the ARC 1 over in the garage section of the forums, for anyone who wants to take a look.

This car has continued to exceed my expectations.

In just the first month, I have done about 400 miles of driving in this car. I have never run out of juice... in fact, the batteries have never been below 60% SOC except on range tests. I have quickly recovered...

steam/ev hybrid

Posted 09-22-2013 at 03:01 PM by Jewelieanna

I'm new to the ev world but my idea was to eleminate the batteries.start with a vw beetle, put a 50 hp or more electric motor kit (sold for 3k to 7.5k). Now instead of batteries arrange the front end to fit a two stroke engine (two strokes are easiest to convert to steam) running a generator head with enough current to power the 50 hp motor. Don't know if it is posibble but would really like to get some info on it.

Electric Cars Shut Off During Winter

Posted 09-02-2013 at 09:56 PM by electricity4cars

It is already September. A few months from now we, electric car enthusiasts, will have to prepare to take the public transport because most of the time our automobiles cannot make it through slippery piles of snow. Better prepare for a well-maintained garages now that winter is coming. It will still be better to prevent than to cure.

Some owners out there are not afraid to take the risk. How about you? What do you do to avoid mishaps during the cold season?

Wheel Bearing Replacement Round 1

Posted 08-27-2013 at 09:41 AM by Abraxas3D

Attempted to fit new wheel bearings into the hubs, but learned the hard way to not pound in the bearings with the wrong sized tool. Other side went in A-OK!
