    Hi Pete,
Thanks or reaching out to me. Would the adapater work with this setup recommende by Jay at EWvWorks here in Seattle? "However, the easiest way to build a conversion is with aftermarket components such as the HPEVs AC51 that we now have powering a VW Bus. It bolts right up to the original transmission and offers the sporty feel of manual shifting and optimized torque for each speed, with the option of just leaving it in 3rd gear" I can ask Jay about a best offer price if you think it will work. Any ideas on which batteries would give the most miles and still fit in this low-slung car?

    Hi Pete

I don't understand the building of an induction controller and believe if I do get one working, I won't be able to troubleshoot it.

I'm trying to help my step grandson that is into electronics. My project is the 15KW 20HP e-assist altermotor from GM. I have read it is an induction and switched reluctance device. Switched reluctance (stepper) motors are different than PM and straight inductance.

Would you take a guess that if I bought a battery/controller from the BAS system, I could get it to work in a motorcycle equally as well as it does in a car ? The controller is part of the battery, so, it's costly.

I'm trying to keep this a little hush hush, until I get one working, and, before people start a run on these and up the prices. They are remarkably inexpensive for what they are.

I value your input because you constantly try to advise me on things in the past and state WHY you think I am off in my thinking.

    Thank you, Harold in CR

    Hi Pete
Congrats on getting the DIY controller running.
I am going a different route for my 3 wheel motorcycle build. I need a 120V 200A AC controller and they are extremely expensive. I saw that you bought a populated controller board from Paul & Sabrina. I have searched everywhere but the right place and can not find a link or info to order one of these boards and a price.

Maybe you could offer up that info ? I'm planning on using a Honda IMA controller for the power electronics stuff, as did TomDB on the forum here.

Thanks for any useful info you care to share.

I have built 4 electric cars. Nothing grandiose but they did the job. There is lots of things needing to be cleaned up. We need better alternative methods of building and transportation without all the government intervention that pretty much eliminates the ability for folks to have a decent life. Too much bureaucratic bull shit in our country.

Hey Pete...Got everything mounted, made sure the pack was charged...turned the key, heard the click and backed out. Hit the brakes and the contactor tripped. came back on...same thing every turn around the block...hooked up the SMI and figured 11.5V on the 12 volt side just isnt gonna cut it ;-). I now have my 12 v battery on the charger...tomorrow will figure out the dc/dc after i fix my daughter in laws car so it can pass smog inspection. so far so good going around the block except that I still have no clutch...just spring. I will adjust that too I guess now that I know its not a lot of turns to get results.

Would you all be willing to send some along for testing and demonstrating to prospective buyers? I was thinking 8 would do fine. It would give a reasonable size and large enough to show possible mounting possibilities. With the system you have these could be mounted in a suspended fashion and they could also be mounted in a skinny tight area. 10 or 20 ah size would be all that would be required for the testing and all the results will be posted and sent to you.

    Pete :)

What I would like to do is test a few cells for capacity and the ability to be fast charged and how much power we can take out of them. I have been testing A123 pouch cells with my setup and graphing and posting the results. A123 cells are sold as 20ah cells but only give 18ah's at best. It is not in our interest to have cells that provide less amp hours than advertised. When something new comes along we like to run it through a battery of tests to be sure it will give us what we need for our cars. I'd like the plastic holders too so those can be shown and demonstrated for mounting purposes.

    Hello Mr Pete,
    Thanks for your interesting.
I had got your reply . So now what can i do for you ? Please send your exact requirements by email : batteryshow@126.com with your contact information.
    Thanks again.

I like the modules. Clean and professional. If you send a couple cells and holders I would be happy to test them on my new testing rig for you. You can contact me via the private message. If these prove to be good and our boys like them then maybe you could actually sell them. You would of course have to make them available at an attractive price but for sure include those cool holders. I think those will be an excellent way to hold the cells in the vehicle and together.

Do you have the specs on what the make up of the cells are? Are they just normal LiFePO4 or are they special high output and high life LiFePO4 cells.

    Pete
