    That's what I'm doing. It won't be gutless. I agree that trying to put the whole unit as is in the back would be a huge job. Also an advantage of going into the customary transmission is you can use two gears instead of just a single ratio.

    so im curious if i was to use the leaf motor up front, under the hood, without the gear reduction and put it to my opel gearbox with an adapter plate and coupler would that get around the "gutless" 7:1 ratio that Duncan keeps going on about? everyone keeps saying to mount the leaf motor in the back of the opel but i just dont feel like theres any room for it without cutting a hole in the floor and possibly ruining the structural integrity of my unibody car, i feel like this would be the easier option im just not sure why no one else has suggested it unless they're not aware of leaf motor being able to be separated from the gear reduction.

    do you have a build thread somewhere? id love to compare notes on our opels and see how yours is coming, have u received ur leaf unit yet? how do u plan on mounting urs?
