Clint, I've contacted Fred Behning in Austin: fred.behning@alumni.indiana.edu

He says he's available if you want to see a local, IMHO an excellent, conversion sans BMS. Fred sold his Sprite, but I think it's still around Austin.

Are you in/near Austin, San Marcos or somewhere in between?

Any updates? I spent all Friday afternoon at Darius' place. He modified my controller. It still doesn't work. I'm very disappointed. The biggest issue is that he can't test them with a load on a motor. He needs a dyno. I showed him how to build a simple one. I'm just not sure I can keep going with this direction. The unit works fine with no load it seems. How are doing with yours?

    Regards,
    Gary

The controller has an 80V cutoff, so I've had to wait for my batteries to come in before I can test it (LiFePO4s from China, 2-3 months). There is an ElectroCraft thread that I'll update as soon as I'm able to try it out.

ClintK I noticed you are using an eletrocraft controler in your conversion; have you gotten far enough to test it yet? I am curious about your impressions of it.

I am considering one myself but there is little info on them.

Very interested in your step dad's electric van. Will contact you any way you choose so we can ask questions about it. We can go get it, and are ready to purchase if we get the information we seek. Thanks.

Hi.. I recently requested that you become a friend. A little about me: I'm a 59 yr old retired industrial electrician with 40 odd years experience in most every area of electronics\electrical\computers... have recently become interested in the EV scene and am exploring the feasibility of starting a company to build\retrofit EVs... trying to gather a circle of like minded enthusiasts to exchange ideas and brainstorm to find the outer limits of what's realistic\feasible in this area... are you interested ??

looking forward to getting to know you... frank

PS: checked out your spitfire... really cool conversion and exceptional job on documentation.... keep up the good work!!!
