Hi Steve. I live in Lunenburg Ontario, just north of Cornwall. I recently gutted (almost completely) my 2004 Hyundai Elantra and am trying to get some traction on converting to EV for a runabout to get me to Cornwall and back (roughly 40 km round trip. I am really low on funds and am looking for contacts for motors and controllers etc...and tips on legal issues in Ontario etc. I also figured that I'd better show up on local radar and get myself known...make some contacts etc.

I really believe strongly in EVs and hope to be one of the team to show Canadians that they are possible. My project might not happen any time soon but I have been following the online community a lot and am keen to make some sort of progress.

I'm located in Ottawa, ON. My conversion is not yet done (I'm slowwwly working towards getting the motor mated to the transmission and then installed. You can see the thread here: 91 Tercel

Roger's Fiero is one of my favorites, just love the look of the dual stacked motors. My single motor is fine for anything I need, but someday I'd like to double it to make a real screamer. Not sure how you're going to feel with only 72 volts unless you can really pull some amps. Have you started a build thread yet?

60% finished my 1984 Fiero and are just waiting for the motor and transmission to come back from the machine shop (about a month) and are wondering if anyone had any experiance with a 72V 7.6 KW Crown motor and the possible performance I beleave it is just above 10HP at continuous run. The controller I am using is a Zapi 80V 600 Amps along with 18 Deka Unigy (3 parallel x 6 series).
