Hi! I registered to this forum because I wanted to ask you a question, and here you are online....
so... I asked my mechanic to remove my 98 Beetle TDI engine, and he removed the transmission and clutch as well. He reduced the cost of the removal by keeping the engine for parts. I knew enough at that time to ask him for the transmission, but I didn't ask for the clutch.... should I go back and get it?

    Dear Pete,

I am converting a 94 Saturn to electric with an 8" Advanced sepex motor. I am at my wits end trying to find a "field map" for my Curtis 1244 controller. Do you have any ideas about what I should do? I could try trial and error but I"m afraid that I'll screw something up.

Also, I'm planning on using 72 volts. Will I be able to do 65mph (5 speed trans)?

Thanks for any help that you can give me.

    I just measured my Starter-generator motor. It's a tad over 8" dia. It's 25" and a bit in circumference.

Still think it may be too small for a small pickup conversion ???

I wasnt boasting, some one asked me to introduce myself, so I gave a little back ground, thats not boasting and I am an open person, I dont fake and I am not a liar and I dont believe in what I call fluff.

It would have been fluff if I had come here saying the usual marketing BS that companies use, but thats not me.

Yes my disability is a real thing, I was ran over in a hit and run and suffered a massive head injury, I had to give up work and as it was a hit and run I got nothing and was left with nothing. five years later I returned to work, but not as a teacher and everything has been a learning curve as a lot of things got wiped due to the accident.
It isnt my point to make people feel sorry for me, but its a pont to say hey look im in the same boat as everyone else. I guess its one of those things that people have said that when you almost die, you tend to look at life in a whole new light.

Im human and I make mistakes, just like anyone else. I though that it was a common understanding that people can and do make them. it is also real life that we have lives where we go out drinking, have fun etc. so though you and other felt that it was a angle to attack, im sure that you have done somthing just the same maybe in other ways.

I am used to people knocking me for spelling and grammar, I have learnt to roll with it, people who know me know the reasons why, so its no biggy. One of my pet hates is being called a liar.

Anyway, I do like you car, Ive always wanted one of them. I was going to post something on a tread you stated, but with all the bashing, its kind of off putting.

With the appoligies coming from people, I think thats its time that we restart and see if we all can get somewhere.

Yes, I believe I posted them in the 'Near Disaster' thread I started and there should be more than one.
