This forum is mainly focused on electric vehicles and electric vehicle conversions, but welcome. Not sure if this is the solution you're looking for, but in my previous racing life, we used a dual voltage, three terminal battery. 16V volts to the starter, and 12V for the rest of the car. Here's a typical three post battery. http://www.batterycentralmall.com/Ba...ry/KR2416.html Or you can buy a 16V racing battery with a step down unit. http://www.turbostart.com/catalog.aspx?cid=15 Or you could connect two 12V in series to the starter, and tap your 12V system off one battery for the 12V system. The downside would be the weight penalty of using two batteries. A 16V supplied starter always got the job done on our 815hp all aluminum babies.

Connecting the batterys in series is what I was going to do .... not too worried about the weight. I wasn't sure if i could connect on the 12v without backfeed. Thanks for the reply. Good luck with the elcetric cars ! I'm worried not too long from now they will be kickin our buts !!
