That's my point. I was wondering why you started a new thread about something already being discussed in a current thread

The economy is tight and if they can get as many dolts as possible then they have all they need. I'd pass the word to stay clear until they can prove otherwise. No phone number to give a call? Only email? Mmmmmm.
I had a look on their order page.
I think all they are really offering is a conversion. Not a complete car.
They give you 2 choices

1)I would like to purchase a Saturn Sky and have it converted.
Conversion Cost $25,000 plus applicable taxes.
2) I have a Saturn Sky and would like to have it converted
Conversion Cost $25,000 plus applicable taxes.
Note: Your Saturn Sky must be good condition, and the determination of whether it is a candidate for AMP conversion will be at the discretion of the AMP design team.
The $25K doesn't include the price of the donor.
That price doesn't seem to 'pie in the sky' at all.
In fact it's seems quite do-able for a DC conversion.

Sure be wary, but I wouldnt go sabotaging them with bad "gossip" just yet. Give them a chance.

When you add in their labor, the components, (2 motors and lithium), and the performance and range they claim it seems as if they are offering a lot for a fairly low price. I hope they can actually do it.

Should I merge the threads or will it get confusing?

Yeah JRP3 that's true, but I just think that If they are on the level they should be encouraged, not howled and jeered until they've done something concrete either good or bad.
If they ARE on the level and we go around sabotaging them out of hand, then we risk killing a company that is trying to do something that we ALL deep down wish some company could do!!!

Wait and see is all I'm sayin'

Nothing wrong with that at all I was expressing concern specifically over the $10,000 deposit before a substantial number of cars have shipped.

$25k for a conversion seems right in normal range for a functioning EV.
