Default Daylight Savings Time (US & Canada)

I don't get it.

It's like taking a battery from one end of the pack and putting it on the other end and then thinking you have more voltage!

Drive safely tomorrow. There is usually an increase in wrecks in first days of daylight savings (more tired people on the road). It works in reverse when the fall when the hour is added back.

It's a commerce thing now. Originally the plan was to save resources in the non winter months by letting folks controlled by a clock have more hours of sunlight in the evening.

What brick and mortar merchants noticed is people crawl out of there houses and spend money more when they have longer light evenings.

Now it's just a way to entice you to spend your money.
Ooops increase economic growth.
ERR Um Save the planet by not running your lights as much at night

Oh we have to change back so the kids do not have to walk to school in the dark.

Pick your excuse based on your political paranoia tendencies. I just wish they would leave the clocks alone, either time I do not care. If Junior can't (or will not) walk to school in the dark in the winter then deal with it locally let the schools adjust their hours as needed.

But I'm a butt head!

Move to Arizona so you don't have to worry about it, like me.

I did consider AZ. It has many non-regulations that I would prefer. And affordability is there also. It's just I am not good with the heat. I melt much above mid 70's. So Costal Pacific for me. And get a job that is not clock dependent.

I don't like the heat much either, but I try to just plan my days around not being out in the worst of it whenever possible, and try to remember that it will indeed get cool again.

Sometimes it's hard to keep that in mind when bicycling everywhere, even with electric assist!

Since neither car has A.C. I would ride my motorcycle more during summer. And it would be nice to have the helmet not required, it would most likely be my choice though.

Here we have annoying/wet weather for 2 to 3 months out of the year. and then 9 to 10 months of spring/fall split in September by 2 or three weeks of summer. Nice enough year round that the big Hyatt in Monterey only has heat, no A.C. in the rooms. They remind people to open the window if they are too warm.
