That makes sense. The BMS would have to be able to bypass however many
amphours were needed to finish charging and equalizing the lead-acids.
The little sub-amp BMS boards can't do it. It would require something
that can handle whatever your charger's finishing current is. If you're
running 6v golf cart batteries, that could be 5 amps!

That would be a better option for a charger with a high finishing current.

Another one: 2.5 years, 34k miles on CALB 180AH - I use about 1/2 the
capacity on my commute, obviously more on occasions.
Has survived one severe winter in use at -10 without heating or insulation.
No noticeable change in voltage sag or range since new, although I admit
I've never tried to push it to the ultimate range (somewhere over 100
miles).
My car can only pull 1.5C though, which might help.

I do believe average C-rate and maximum C-rate should be kept as low as
possible for long battery life. This means big batteries or lots of them
and preferably both.

I just took one car for routine checkup. EV odo 80.000 km and with LFP
since 2005. Will test the capacity of the cells since the car has been
working like a clock.
