Ok. I bought a 7.5 to one reductor and had the same machine shop
modify the adapter to use and it now works!!!!!!
I just spent the day reassembling the GS. Its now on its 4 wheels,
suspension and brakes work, and the front end is back in place.
I am veeeeeeeeeeery happy. Motor is fed with the same 48 volts I have
for the main pack and warms up quite a bit but remains touchable with
bare hands. I will rig up some kind of forced cooling for the brushes,
but its not really necessary.
Another good news is that I really did a good job on the hydraulic
leaks of the GS. I can run the pump for 2 minutes and keep pressure on
the system for hours. Really nice.
Another news is I bought a used AXE 7245 for US$399 on ebay, so I now
could upgrade to 72 volts (I already have the batts, I need only the
charger)
