Congrats. Nice ride.
If I were younger, I would like to try one from scratch...

Congratulations!

Someone should have warned you that the EV grin is addictive. There is no known cure. The next thing you know, you'll be building a second EV...

That is pretty cool.
Why the outriggers? Is that permanent or just until you get the steering geometry worked out?
What are you doing for the body?
So is it a series hybrid? I thought I saw a gas engine and a motor attached.

Its actually going to be a paralell hybrid (the motor comes into play at speeds above 45 and sits just ahead of the rear shock assembly, drives a chain to a sprocket sitting on the electric motors shaft. the electric motor, then has another sprocket driving the rear wheel.

The outriggers are just there while we get a feel for how far it can be pushed as far as rollover stability, its pretty narrow (tango territory lol), they will come off once we know were good with about .7 or so on the accelerometer.

for the body, I will go with an aviation style canopy and a full slick body, hoping to get 75 mph out of 10hp

Cool Re: first drive! (Now I know that EV grin)

That's the way I see to do it too . Use the diesel to extend your range and top speed . That takes the high amp draw away at highway speed . Looks like a blast to drive ! I was checking out your pictures to . Reminds of when I was building my go-cart years ago . thanks ! J.W.

Awesome!!! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Looks like fun! How does she feel? I think I remember reading somewhere (Locost site probably) that you were having a bump steer problem, although I don't remember if it was for this build.

I haven't started anything yet. I'm still in the planning stages. It's good to see someone making such great progress on a project like this!
