Question FS: "EV Conversions Made Easy" eBook

It's done! 6 agonising months of researching, writing and filming later I have the ebook Electric Vehicle Conversions Made Easy available for sale!

The website is www.EVsecrets.com, and if you can get past the salesy intro page it's a very decent, useful read (though I'm biased of course).

The Sales Pitch

Ok, here we go. 'Sales voice' on.
I've found the EV publications and ebooks available are either scammy, utter tripe that give you a handful of URL links and teach you nothing you didn't already know, or on the other side of the scale there are publications that assume:
1: You're only buying new parts from EV suppliers,
or,
2: You have a PhD in Electriccarology and love complex formulae & working out stuff like this:

I created my eBook to break down the entire process (with plenty of pictures) into simple, plain English.
There's also eleven tutorial videos that compliment the eBook, allowing you to watch the whole process from your armchair. These videos have the added benefit of showing you exactly how to tackle issues like adjusting the timing of your electric motor and/or changing it's rotational direction.

Potentially complex issues such as building your own adapter plate, or creating your High Pedal Lockout circuit are broken down with pictures, diagrams and plain english explainations.

With the ebook is also added online support, allowing you to harass me with endless questions if for some reason there's an issue that isn't covered in the eBook.

Please check out the website www.EVsecrets.com for a full run-through of exactly what's covered in each chapter of the eBook.

The cost?

Well, it's a rip off.

Yep. It's almost the same price as a tank of gas. And in my opinion the cost of a tank of gas is a rip off.
There are two packages I've created. The first is $77 USD and it includes the eleven videos, the 140-something page ebook, plus two bonus ebooks "Getting the most out of your EV" and "Fifty Frequently Asked Questions".

The more basic package just includes the ebook and the two bonus publications for $57 USD.

I think it's a detailed, comprehensive publication. But if you don't like it or it doesn't meet your needs let me know and you'll have your money back immediately.

Sales Pitch Complete

One thing that worries me is the word "eBook". I don't know about you guys but that word just screams "SCAM". I'd like your opinions on that. It's not a scam. Apart from the chapter about harvesting your major organs for cash.

I'd really like people's feedback on the website and any questions about the ebook. Be honest! I can take it! I promise I won't cry myself to sleep. Again.

Cheers!
Gav

I forgot to mention, the videos star ME! In my seductive, southern (hemisphere) drawl.

I purchased your original kiwiev dvd and was very happy. I'll probably purchase this new product also but first impressions of the website are that it looks and feels very similar to those nonsense "run your car on water" type things. Given that I know your on the level its no problem but if i'd found it say with google i'd have moved on.

Only other thing is the price is a bit steep. I know you have to make a buck but it just jumped out at me.

No offense meant just first impressions

Hey no offence taken! That's awesome feedback! I'm getting similar reports that if it wasn't for my previous EV work, people would be wary of the ebook.

I really appreciate that feeback mate, it's very good! I'll get onto "de-cheesing" the intro page right away!

Well done Gav but I cant help agree with jackbauer regarding the lay out, I was expecting to see a free trial of viagra

None the less I’m definitely interested and will order a copy when moneys available... and only because the subliminal messages on your DVD told me to

LMAO

I was - honestly - expecting to see another "get rich quick "or" work from home" scam but Grant hit the nail right on the head

But knowing Gav - I was happy to see that kind of layout, and in the back of my head feel safe and sure that once the money travels from Zeeland (actual name of the island I live) to New Zealand,I will get my moneys worth.

If this is as informative as the DVD I will gladly spend the 77US$ on the premium e-book.

I cant remember if you did put up a reference to the youtube videos, but if you have`nt -
do it ! I can think of no better way to promote your e-book

Regards Michael

Thanks guys! I've just spent the last few hours revamping the Main Page to make it more, "Hello, and welcome to the news", and less, "But that's not all!". It should be up in 24 hours or so.

I appreciate the honest feedback - you guys rock!

Random pic of a guy with a rock to make my point.

Ok people! Have a look at version 2! http://www.evsecrets.com/2/

Is that a bit more professional & a bit less snake oily?

If you have a spare minute, let me know what you do/don't like about it.
Thanks!

definitely better but i think you are a bit hamstrung by the website template. Nearly every scam site out there uses this look so it would be hard for people to distinguish. I sold some of my own publications in the past and people love a choice of softcopy or hardcopy so as a suggestion you may consider adding this option. It also helps reduce the scam feel of the product if people see a tangible item. A dvd would do for the video segments and all you need is a thermal binder for the book. Costs little and makes a good impression.
