I'll fing the web site and create another post asking if this might be a good design.

with floodies I really don't see a BMS being required. The whole idea of a short over-voltage is to bring all the batteries up to the point they gas a little and reach the same final voltage, and thats as high as they go. As long as you keep them watered, it doesn't really matter if they aren't perfectly balanced. Hence, with floodies, I am convinced it is well worth the investment to install a central watering system, and water every 500 miles or so...

With SEALED batteries... lead AGM, or Li, some kind of monitor/balance probably is required since you can't just charge till they gas.... without ruining them of course.

I'd agree but I had my batteries destroyed cause the charger never shut off and put 70KW of energy (I measure KW's in) in to the pack before I found it boiling over. Maybe it was charger settings that started it, maybe it was a battery gone bad, but it might have been saved by having this "equalizer" installed. Of course a timer would've helped too!

I installed these 6V battery equalizers, BMS, whatever, in my S10 and the charger seems to be shutting off after the lights turn on. I've got more testing to do, esp. once I get more batteries.

I had a PakTraker, but it couldn't read correctly after driving anywhere.

Also, I found a battery water low indicator on either Trojan's web site, or it was SBS battery systems site. Just lets you know if the water is low or not.

Probably costs $$$!

I guess I have not gotten on the ONE charger (for example lets say 12, 12 volt LA..) So we throw this 144 volt charger across the pack, expect all batteries to be perfect, and equal....

google this:

Genius 10 amp per, 4 output charger -

four auto chargers in one and thus three of them would do the job for 12 batteries... each individually charged peaked and floated...

Granted, going to take overnight to recharge but should be easy on those LA's...
