Re: The official site suggestions thread
It's called Better Place, it's a bad idea, and it has nothing to do with this thread.

Re: The official site suggestions thread
Whats the word on getting a forum for builds that aren't a bike/cycle and aren't a car.
In other words, lawn mowers, tractors, golf carts, ATV's, go-carts etc.
All these builds seem to have much more in common with each other than they do with bikes/cycles and cars. In terms of batteries chosen/used, run times, controllers, motor sizes etc.
Im working on a riding mower conversion now and having a hard time finding good threads that detail parts used, motors, controllers, throttle setups etc

Question for the admins....
Would it be possible to increase the limit for the number of PMs allowed?
They don't exactly use that much storage space.
I don't like deleting things and I cant see an easy way to pull them off the site?
Cheers,
Mike

Re: The official site suggestions thread
Unless you're having significant conversations I don't see how you can fill that inbox. If it's beneficial to others, put it in a thread. If not there's email and IM.

I'll second this suggestion. And add "please"
And Ziggy,
I fairly often direct PM questions back to the forum. You'd be surprised how many questions I get from "shy" members.

Hi Ziggy,
I get a ton of questions about my conversion, other uk/eu members seeking advice/ asking about suppliers and a few regarding Sinopoly cells.
PMs are available to all forum members. I'd rather my email and IM weren't public for spam reasons.
200 messages (inbox and outbox) isn't really that many!

Re: The official site suggestions thread
Me too. I've been suffering with a 95% full box for a while, agonizing over each deletion needed to keep my box from being full. Sure I could open each message and save them as text, but I'm not that organized

Ignoring posts and threads (again)

So I second JRP's suggestion that "ignored" posts don't appear in the index. Just ignoring the contents isn't what I think of as ignoring.

I just tried this as well (on eBay and News bot).
Is it that we need an "Ignore threads started by ..." option, as well as "Ignore posts by ..." since these are applicable at different times?

I understand that, I'd just pass them to email after the initial contact. My email is at least indirectly accessible though, so I gues I'm not that afraid of spam. My primary account was intended to be a burner but I never got any spam in it, so now I just use it for everything. I do get spam on it now, but it's 1/10 as much as the legit notifications I get here anyway

Re: The official site suggestions thread
Just realised there is a download option in the bottom right hand side of the PMs page.
Downloaded mine as an XML and cleared the inbox.
Problem kinda solved.
Cheers,
Mike
