Default S10 Battery location

I am new to the DIY site and I am in the process of doing an AC50 conversion on a 1991 S10 reg cab. I am using 18 GC2 lead acid batteries. I am tempted to put them in a box in the bed. But after reading some of the information on this site it might be a good idea to spend the extra time to put in a tilt bed and the batteries underneath. How hard is the tilt bed and fabricating the proper battery cages ? I am thinking of 14 under the bed and 4 under the hood.

Hey S10 EV,

Check out our site:

Batteries under the bed is that way to go! It is a bit of work though. We will be reworking our racks out of aluminium soon. If you have any questions feel free to let me know.

Casey
