I am gradually picking up parts for second EV, and recently noticed some good deals on Circuit Breaker Airpax JLM-1- 1RLS5-30140-200


for a lot less than the $150+ I spentthe first time around on a big 4-pole GE circuit breaker. Can anyone verify for me that this Airpax will actually hold up under 'normal EV use' at 120v nominal, and pulling 200amps 'often', and up to 300-400 amps 'briefly' during acceleration.

....or is this unit too light duty?

I can't answer that question, but I have a similar question. My volt and amp needs are the same as yours... and I saw this on ebay for $105:

It is a Schneider 865-1065, 160v, 250A. It looks the same as the Airpax that electroauto or KTA sell, but costs less. It appears to have the DELAY...52 rating but I can't quite read it. I called the people but he said he'd have to go out to the warehouse to read it.

Think it would do the trick?

I have a similar Airpax but its 250 AMPs with a 313 AMPs trip. I've only tripped it once pulling 400 battery amps but so far it's been decent. I've been told the 125v can really deal with about 180-200 volts and still operate, I'll be using mine on a 144 volt system.
