going AC is going to be more expensive than DC, and the 1238 is pretty low voltage for any decent performance...

are you sure you don't want something simple like a Curtis 1221c (DC up to 120v, 400amp)? I have one of THOSE I could sell you cheap since I am upgrading to SolitonJr.

I have done many projects. Now we construct a new type of AC motor. To do this, the motor controller is needed. I already did a project on the AC50 motor kit.
But now I do not have work and can not buy a new controller. I think many will change their old Curtis AC controllers this summer. Should be a new powerful AC Curtis controller for a higher voltage.

Dont hold your breath waiting for 1238's to be low cost. There is a big need for these controllers in the UK and Europe at less than list price, so you may find yourself waiting and never getting. The new controller will not be out until the end of the year, and not many people will replace their 650a controller with the 500a controller. The AC-50 is not designed for the higher voltage and could be damaged. The new controller would have to be programmed by HPEVS for the characteristics of the AC-50, and I doubt that they will want to do it. The new controller will be bundled with a new motor. I have a 1238 you can have for ? PM ME
