Dont hold your breath waiting for 1238's to be low cost. There is a big need for these controllers in the UK and Europe at less than list price, so you may find yourself waiting and never getting. The new controller will not be out until the end of the year, and not many people will replace their 650a controller with the 500a controller. The AC-50 is not designed for the higher voltage and could be damaged. The new controller would have to be programmed by HPEVS for the characteristics of the AC-50, and I doubt that they will want to do it. The new controller will be bundled with a new motor. I have a 1238 you can have for ? PM ME
