Default Hope for Lithium on the Horizon?

Saw this article this morning. They're late coming to the party but maybe they can be up and producing within 2 years? If so that would eliminate the Mandarin Stranglehold on Lithium Batteries. I hope the Chinese crap themselves reading this.

Na! We always require heavy tax incentives and bailouts to make things work here. They have a cheap labor force and that wins every time.

Late! How about did not show for the party but wants the bid. Give me, Give me.

Another interesting piece...

http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/mar...ttery-venture/

NEC and Nissan..

HONG KONG -- Nissan Motor Co. and NEC Corp. will jointly invest about 100 billion yen ($1.1 billion) to bolster production of large-capacity lithium ion batteries for use in automobiles, according to a report in the Monday morning edition of the Nikkei newspaper. Production at a plant in Kanagawa Prefecture, with annual output for about 13,000 vehicles, is expected to be underway this spring, the report said, without citing its source. The firms are also considering factories in the U.S. and Europe to supply local automakers.

Don't you love these battery salesmen who write posts here saying: We have LiFePo4 at a "very competitive price". Then you email them and "very competitive" for a 20kW pack with BMS & Charger turns out to be $14,000.00 or more.
Once US Companies start producing these batteries here in the United States the price should be $10,000.00 or less. Gottdi is right....US Companies will qualify for Government subsidies that foreign companies won't get.
I'll wait for that Thank You Very Much.
