Looking for some current Ah pricing on batteries and what the most popular/best batteries are now. Synopoly? Calb? American brand?

Last time I purchased any was a couple of years ago and I went with Calb at $1.21/Ah plus shipping from California. Just asked Keegan for a current price.

it is hard to say which is the best battery.no standard answer,i think.
every one has different criterion.
and every company has its own advantages and disadvantages.
choosing a battery supplier,i think the follow factors are important:
performance
price
delivery time
service(pre-sales service,after sales service)

i advice you consider these factors and choose the most satisfactory supplier.
besides choosing a good battery,you also need BMS to protect the lithium batteries from over charging or discharging.charger is important as well.

Calb is selling the SE series at $1.21 for small quantities now. Got a quote today for 8 units.

For their new CA line the price is $1.28/Ah, about 6% more but probably worth it due to the reported improved performance in adverse conditions alone.

Yes that premium may be worth it. I recently bought some 90 Ahr Winstons for $1.10/Ahr. I haven't used them yet and the little testing that I have done indicates that they will take a higher charge voltage. The new CALBs however, have a new form factor and may have less voltage sag. There are a lot more users on this forum who have knowledge about CALBs and that is worth something as well.

Yea lots of people are using Calb and Thundersky. There was a third one a while back called Hi Power but they seem to have disappeared. I didn't like what I read about them but don't recall specifics.

Chinese sourced A123 20ah pouch cells are running $17.40 each plus shipping. The are more like 18.5ah but even at that you are about $1/ah and have great peak power potential. Of course it is not as easy as the large format cells and you take more risk as they are gray market. It really depends on what you want the cells to do.
