EVDL List is on a distinguished road
Default Re: [EVDL] Best car to convert as a business (was: What do I need to do to get a 150

As I recall, the original question was not what is the best vehicle to
convert, but rather what would be a good candidate for converting as a
business. To do conversions as a business, you must have a product that
starts out with a good image, and a large supply of affordable donor
chassis. Then you start looking at factors to narrow the field such as
weight, aerodynamics, battery storage locations, etc.
I doubt that your target audience for these conversions would want be seen
in a 25 year old car, regardless of how cool it looks. It just wouldn't fit
in with the neighborhood. I live a short distance from Redmond, WA. I have
had talks with some of the people at Microsoft about setting up a fleet. One
of the first concerns has always been that the vehicle needs to fit it with
the crowd. That has been one of the strengths of the plug-in Prius. I just
think that there needs to be more options around here.
