Also, my tags are due this month; I talked to someone at the Tag Agency and asked about registering the car as electric and she didn't know anything about it. I am a little worried that it might be a long, difficult process and am contemplating just keeping it registered as a gas car. How does everyone else in Oklahoma register their cars?

When you register your vehicle, they don't/won't state on the title that is Electric Powered, at least my motor vehicle office tells me there's nowhere in the computer to add it.

Just keep all your receipts, and file the form on your Okla Tax for the alternative fuels credit. It's buried in there somewhere.

that will only work, untill you need emissions done, so go to the emissions place and ask them who you can talk to about reg. as electric, You cant be the only person in OK to convert an ev, Heck I lived in Durant for a couple of years an there was a guy there who had an EV.

That person was me, in Calera. It's pretty stupid, when the state will give you a tax credit for converting a vehicle to electric, yet not have a method at the tag office to reflect the conversion.

you dont say, its a small world. it does seem stupid to not have a way to register it.
