Default how to choose a good oscilloscope

I'm looking to get a used oscilloscope and I was hoping y'all had some good pointers on what to look for in them. I've used many scopes before in lab and in research. Digital and analog. I never paid much attention to the specs though. I just used what I had. I want to use it for general circuit design and testing. Hoping you guys have some good pointers.

pretty much anything tectronics or HP is good stuff. There are a couple of web sold PC scopes that run off the serial ports that aren't that expensive and sample rates look fairly impressive. Most electronic parts houses can turn you on to where and who.

the other thing would be to rent the equip if you are in a sort of major city.

I know this is an old thread - but I also notice that no one actually answered your question..
..
A good O-Scope would be a 100 Mhz Dual Channel O-Scope.
There are a lot of techtronix scopes on eBay and just about all electronics surplus dealers have them in stock...
..
You will also need a good set of probes (no probes don't always come with used o-scopes...).
..
You should get an O'Scope with probes that allows for DC Coupling, AC Coupling and that will trigger Internally or Externally.
...
Since you are interested in EV construction and troubleshooting you should also get a set of High Voltage Probes to use on the HiCap Battery packs.
..
Expect to spend from $200 to $400 for a good O'Scope.
..
Hope this has helped..
