Default Alltrax Toolkit help

I am a high school student working on an electric car for one of my engineering classes. We recently installed the SPM 48400 controller from Alltrax on our car and are currently looking to make some changes via the Alltrax Toolkit program. Some drivers of our car have complained of an inconsistent throttle. The default throttle rate is 12.5%, which results in the amount of amps we are pulling being inconsistent. When we set the throttle rate to 3% the throttle was not responsive enough. Does anyone have a recommended throttle rate? Or any idea on changes that could be made to the programmable curves that would help with this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
