Default JLD404 on/off

Just installed this meter, and I just realized there's no turning this meter off. Does any one know is this true? I guess I could put a switch in between the 12v negative going to the # 2 connection on the back of meter, but I'm under the impression this meter needs power at all times in order to keeps its memory. So apparently this meter just stays on all the time? The LED display will burn out eventually? I'm powering my meter threw a 72v to 12v converter running off my 180 amp pack, I only use my car once a month, so I'm not gona keep the car on charge all that time, I'm gonna recharge after the one use, and then let sit the rest of the month. I'm guessing that having the meter on all the time won't affect or hurt my pack? I'm kinda new at this whole game, so I'm hoping someone would have some answere for me.
Thanks CMc

Hi,
You don't need to keep the meter on all the time, it will keep its memory until you reset it, mine is turned on and off with the ignition switch.
