HPGC is now producing another new AC motor, the AC50. It has 90 lb-ft of torque out to 3000 rpm at 96V, using the Curtis 1238-7501 550A AC controller. The torque at low rpm is a bit lower than that of the AC31 in order to obtain higher power and efficiency at higher rpm. Peak power is 51HP at 96V (over 50HP from about 3000 to 3500 rpm). The available torque vs motor rpm at 96V is similar to that available from an Advanced DC Motors 203-06-4001 8" motor and Curtis 1231-75xx 550A controller, but peak power is a bit less (about 60HP for the DC system at 96V). Controller efficiency is around 93-94%, motor efficiency 79-87%, giving overall system efficiency of around 80% over motor rpm range of about 2500 to 6000 rpm. They will have torque-speed data from dynamometer testing up on their website soon (the above is a summary of this data, not a calculated estimate).
