Beshires, before you accuse me of trying to silence you, keep in mind that I am only trying to ignore topics that I find worthless, and to keep the behavior civil

Its pretty simple, to ignore a thread, Do Not Click to go there. Problem solved. What part of that can you not understand? I don't get into politics. I do not click to go where where politics are obviously discussed. I have no problem utilizing a little self control and simply do not go there. If I somehow found my self in a political thread then I would leave without disturbing those there who do like politics. What ever floats their boat. Thats what makes this America!

I'm glad I'm not your teacher. Whoever your teacher is, he/she has failed utterly.

I don't want to see anything having to do with you, ever. That's the point of my suggestion. I think anyone who reads THIS thread is going to be able to make up their mind who is being rude. I'm trying to let you live in your world and I can live in mine.

Keep in mind that if my suggestion is implemented, you will probably never see me respond to another one of your posts, ever. Why are you fighting that?

If you look at all of my posts throughout the site, they are generally polite and to the point. I have occasionally responded in kind in threads you post in, in which case I get rude sometimes. Not half as rude as you, but still substandard behavior.

Is this forum about electric cars, or is it about who can win a fist fight? It's not king of the hill, it's supposed to be an informative web site. What's with the threats? Grow up a little.

I just went through all the posts I made in the Unlimited Mileage thread, which is the only place I've ever really interacted with you.

I've only posted on 17 of those pages, 29 posts total. There are 5 posts where I would say my behavior was less than stellar, and that includes rude jokes. Only one of those was to you, and you re-posted it on this thread. That was "insult by youtube" so it was hardly serious. As well, there were 2 posts where I don't think I was rude, but I could see how others might think that it was borderline.

That makes 1/4 of the posts I made there being questionable, and the rest of them, including the ones where we were talking, I use polite language even if the people talking to me don't. Considering what was being said in the same thread by others, I think I'm above the curve for polite talk.

Simply disagreeing with somebody is not rude. Insulting them, threatening them and posting vile or insulting pictures IS rude, in pretty much every society I've been exposed to. So is spamming the suggestions thread when somebody tries to make a request which would make BOTH of us happier.

In your User CP you can block all posts by certain individuals. Maybe you should both add each other to your ignore lists

Maybe so, I wasn't really looking at who posted all the pictures but I figured with so many troll images flying around it had to be more than one person. And the duck was mine, but let's face it: It was funny. And there was only one duck.

Beshires, keep in mind that when people disagree with you it's not automatically an insult. There's usually no need to escalate a discussion into an argument, or an argument into a fight. It doesn't really prove anything, win or lose, except that none of the people involved have control of themselves.

Another thing I see on that thread is that when two groups are in disagreement, when one person starts insulting another, then everyone assumes that the whole group is being insulting. I doubt you would have flamed at me on this thread had you paid attention to who was saying what, and in what tone.

This is also true but its also true that that flamers join forces to attack their hapless victim.And I don't think everyone joins into the foray not knowing what was said of who started the blaze.

The newest spamming technique appears to be putting links in your signature and then making nearly relevant posts to a thread... For example, is this post spam or not:

Hard to say, but the link in the signature certainly seems odd for a EV forum.

So, I was thinking... a lot of this funny business could be prevented if one was blocked from embedding links in either their posts or signature line until they've made 10 posts...

Seem like a reasonable idea? Is it easy to implement?
