Yes, it's difficult to create useful categories that will not create duplicity or make locating the information you want easy. I recently added a site search engine to EVtransPortal.com to assist people in locating information more quickly. It was free, but "pico" get's a sort of freebie promotion by providing the search engine capability. Maybe members here can suggest categories that would best suite this group's needs?

Hah way to self-promote twice in one thread

I'm just waiting for anyone to start editing the wiki themselves. You guys do realize it's all community-editable, right?

I'll try to poke around on it some more. I'm not the most knowledgeable EVer just yet.

Eeek! Arrk!

Is it me, or has the main topic "All about EV conversions" been scuttled down the Main Page? Now the "EV News" is at the top of the page.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention before but if it has moved then I'll be honest and say I kinda preferred it the other way round.

Ok, back to work.

It may be the amount of threads posted that decides...

Ah I see. That makes sense.

I have a question regarding the cool little yellow lightning bolts below our usernames on every post.
I have 5 on mine. Is that a good thing? What do they symbolise exactly?

I added those in for how many posts you've made. You get 1 for every 10 posts, up to 50 at which point I should switch to some other symbol. It's just a quick contributor indicator. There are so many features in this software, I'm still trying to get it all set up.

Oh and about the rearranging, I'm still working on that. The news just felt to me like it should be the first thing on the list, followed by general discussion and then all the conversion info, which takes up the rest of the forum. We can work it out another way if it's not convenient.

It might be good to have a topic for EV related projects, could be called 'Training Ground'. Smaller projects that are related to EV conversions but not a full sized car. Stuff like petrol->electric lawnmower conversions, electric go-karts, off-road buggies, kids cars, boats etc. Stuff for people who can't afford to do a conversion now but are planning to do one in the future or just want to get a fun battery powered project going. Place to shares ideas, stories and projects; how useful/fun they were, what you learnt etc.

Would it be possible to add navigation buttons at the bottom of the page? Or at least a "Return to top" button? I'm too impatient to always scroll back up to go back a section in the forum.
