Unhappy Re: Los Angeles EV Car Club a success!

Not too long ago I could have made your meeting when I lived in Fountain Valley. It's just a little bit too far to come from West Virginia!!!!! Wish I were still there!!!!

West Virginia! Wow, well you will be here in spirit. Who knows, maybe you'll end up back here again.

BTW, I did a search and it looks like there are at least 3 members from WV on this forum. Maybe you could start a club over there!

Talking Re: Los Angeles EV Car Club a success!

Meanderingthemaze I'm afraid that I agree with Groucho Marx. He is reputed to said that He'd never join a club that would allow Him to be a member! Thanks for the sentiments.

Thanks for the info! Pasadena is still a little far for me for regular meetings though. Cal Tech is about 40 minutes from my house.

There's a good chance I'd come and check out a car show if you have one though. It's a lot closer than the Kick Gas Festival and Electric Draggin', both in the San Diego area, each of which I attended once.

I'm sure I'll see you guys around!

Even though I have had a hard time finding LA-based EV clubs/orgs/etc, I still run into new information everyday it seems so perhaps there is one in your area. LA is a very spread out, so that makes it difficult to have a convenient place for everyone. But hope you can find the time to make it out one of these meetings.

Anybody know how I can get a hold of the people at the Pasadena EV Club? PM me with any names or phone numbers that I can contact regarding membership and location of meetings. outolunchcruisin@gmail.com

Me too. I heard there was a SoCal EV event this weekend but I was too busy prepping my engine for sale to be there

Hey guys, I originally had trouble finding the info as well, but if you ever for get, just google EVAOSC (EVA of So Cal) and the page will come up:
http://www.techgogreen.org/evaosc/

For the sake of future searches I'll just post the info here, but always go to the site to check for current info.

Pasadena Meetups (More casual discussion group)
Quote:
1st Saturdays at 11:00AM there is a chat group that meets outside the convenience store at the Chandler Dining Hall at Cal Tech.
Diamond Bar Meetups (More structured meetings)
Quote:
The Electric Vehicle Association of Southern California (EVAOSC) meets at 10:00AM on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s facility at 21865 E. Copley Dr. in Diamond Bar. We usually have a speaker usually once a month or a tour or public demonstration event or a video. This is to update people about up coming meetings and meeting places. Topics covered include electric transportation, electric cars, hybrids, fuel cell cars, renewable energy, peaking of cheap oil, US Energy Policy, motors, monorails, etc. Usually vehicles are available for viewing.
Also, for future visitors, the So Cal EV Converters club was a good effort to connect EV builders in the Los Angeles area. However, since these projects are slow going and we are so spread out in LA County, it just didn't make sense to have regular meetings, since there wasn't a whole lot of news every month regarding people's projects. So, it kind of folded in to the Pasadena EVA meetings where there is more discussion about conversions.

Ah -- thank you. I had presumed that the group was defunct, since the blog and newsletter haven't been updated since 2010.
