Other Notes: I purchased the Jetta for $400. The body is in great shape (pictures coming soon). The owner said it didn't run but I got a $10 fuel pump and now it is my main driver while I work out a few small issues (needed all new brakes so far). It gets 31 mpg which is 12 mpg better than my previous car. Driving 60 miles a day, it will pay for itself in just a few months and will be basically free. Can't wait until it is electric though!! I was lucky enough to get an order in for a LV Zilla just a week before Otmar's announcement to temporarily hold production so I am hoping to sell the running motor later this year in anticipation of the controller's arrival. The only other purchases were a few things from Cafe Electric (hepa pedal, speed sensor, reversing contacts, fuses) out of concern that they may be out of stock soon since they are no longer maintaining inventory. I haven't bought much else yet but have big plans over the next few months. This is my best project yet!! Completed to date: Zilla on order Pulled engine, gas tank, etc, etc Installed vacuum pump Upgraded rear suspension with Bilstein HD shocks and springs from Coilsprings.com Motor ready to go Waiting on adaptor plate from ev-solutions. Started front battery racks.
