I am in the contemplation stage of this - I have found a suitable donor car - I am off the grid with a self installed solar/hydro power system in a 2 story house I built myself and have also installed grid tied. I can weld, machine, solder, etc - so I can handle the build. My commute will be about 10 hilly miles each way - I would like to be able to cruise at 45 and not much under that on the hills - I will install a charging station at work so I only need to make the 10 miles. The car came cheap and will be super lite when I am done restoring it. I was wondering if I can pull this off with something like the 72 volt system I saw at e-volks. Looking forward to the build.
