Hello I'm new,
(Am I also STUPID) I currently Own a 2013 Toyota RAV4 EV (aka. Tesla & Toyota went to bed together and put a Tesla Drive Train in this thing!!!!)
Here is my hairbrain scheme, I mean well thought out plan!
I have a 2007 Chevy Uplander that is off the road because the engine overheats and won't get out of it's own way, BUT RUNS!
It has currently a 3.9 L
LZ9 V6 Engine and a 4-speed
4T65-E automatic transmission. It is a Front wheel drive short body. It came configured as a 7 Passenger but I found out it had the floor pan from the Venture so i cut the holes to access the center row middle seat mounts and went to a junkyard and found a Venture center row middle seat and now it's a 8 passenger minivan!
I was thinking if I take out the exhaust system and the fuel tank I feel the undercarriage should be big enough for a Tesla P100 Battery Pack. This van has a nice high riding height so ground clearance shouldn't be an issue.
My main concern, is this car's electronics to NEW, the transmission is a computer controlled transmisson and I don't know if Electric Conversions can make a computer controlled trans work or if I need to swap the trans for something NON-computer controlled. or is there a motor out there not to expensive that will connect to the front drive shafts like the Tesla Motor does via it's gearbox on the front of my Rav4 EV.
Will any of the other Computers in a 2007 Chevy get in the way! This I believe is GMLAN2 bus electronics if I remember correctly!
