Hi,
New to this forum. I have a difficult question to answer... My, made in Poland, Polski Fiat was registered in New Jersey, it is not able to be registered here in California due to emission issues. Any thoughts on whether I would be able register the car if I convert to EV?

Thanks for your response,

Out of state conversion works if the local smog inspector referee agrees, but it would have to have the fuel block modified on the title before import. Depending on where in Cali, the DMV can be accomodating all the way to combatitive. Wouldn't hurt to ask the local manager of the facility, really friendly like before hand. Ridgecrest was worth the drive, both Bakersfields just always said, "NO". Nevada just wanted all the fuel components gone and either trailered or one day permitted for the inspection.

Thanks for the feedback... I've contacted the CA DMV and they said they are developing rules for conversions to EV, but mine is in a real gray area... HaHa... haven't found that really friendly DMV person yet!

Yes, sorry about that, it is .COM not .NET.
That is a lot more than it used to be BUT it is still a huge bargain because MT does not charge sales tax on vehicles!
