AC 50 / Curtis 1238 Sluggish Performance

Installed the above in a 1998 Subaru Forester with manual trans. Motor is drawing very little ah and will not rev above 2000 RPM. RPM slowly increases, doesn't matter what gear transmission is in. Showing code 17 on Curtis 840 which I believe is severe under voltage. In neutral motor revs easily pass 3500 RPM. read article about limp mode and I think that is our problem. Using 8 batteries 12.4 volts and 700 ahs. I assume we will have to rent a Curtis programmer to change any parameters. It seems battery menu will need changes. Help would be appreciated.

I may be wrong but I think you can use the spyglass (840) to set parameters. Is your spyglass connected? Check throttle type and other settings
I used this to set up my controller. http://hpevs.com/Site/images/jpeg/i...nstructions REV A VER 5.14 and up 6-23-15.pdf
