Hoping to gain some knowledge here. I have an old ADC 8" motor running 120VDC through an old 12600 Kelly. My observations have been that the current at stalled rotor starts at about 10A and then slowly creeps up to 400A as the motor RPM increases.

Does this sound like I have the brushes set wrong?

The motor controller is set to limit current to 400A and there doesn't seem to be any settings for "soft launch" in it's programming that I remember. The motor history is unknown and bought used. Currently the motor rotation is CCW but I can't seem to find much info on the motor.
