Many forums are completely screwed up- my own E-Fire thread cannot be viewed beyond page 50 and there are at least 52 pages. Please get this fixed NOW before the whole thing implodes from people losing interest!

As far as I can tell, nothing has been fixed for at least 2 years now.

The 4-digit restriction on the garage is as simple as changing a single number from 4 to 5 in the html -- has gone unfixed for years.

My thread has lost all of it's pictures... twice! -- My support ticket went as far as 'handing it over to the technical staff' -- which is where support tickets go to die apparently.

To be fair, at least in my experience, the local admins have been pretty attentive.. they just can't do much other than report the problem though.

to be fair-- you did post in a different thread, and those posts are still there

http://www.diyelectriccar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1015385#post1015385

but it is troubling not to find some of the recent threads and posts.

Hopefully it is something simple to fix and will be addressed after vacation for the US holiday.

I've posted in a couple of different threads SOME of which seem to have either disappeared or there is only 1 page showing when I know there was 3-4 pages of posts. I click on a thread (which I did at random) and get 2 blue lines and no writing.

More evidence of the growing problems with this forum...

Clicked the 'Garage' button -- get this:
Not Found
The requested URL /garage/ was not found on this server.

Don't know how much longer this server will be usable at this rate..

It looks like the site is newly HTTP secure (https). Could that be part of the problem?
Well spotted! I have just been using the same browser page with the non-secure URL in the address bar. So I tried a https://blah address in a new tab, and it worked (for the index page). Clicking on a link that had been bad, it now comes up as a https:// address. Alas, still no content. I pressed shift-F5 (Chrome) many times, watching the "waiting for google..." and "waiting for viglink..." etc messages come up, but no change; still no content.

Similar with Firefox (using shift and the reload icon). I haven't tried flushing cache yet; it takes me days to recover from one of those. I also tried putting the https:// address into Opera Mini on my phone, which I only use for one specific site. Still no content on the page in question.

So the change to secure http might have contributed to the problem, but forcing secure URLs doesn't fix it. Sadly.

Edit1: Oops. All the links come up as secure, from a non-secure or secure starting page. Pages that work and pages that don't all have the secure address now. So that's not changed. BTW, this edit was lost recently... huh.

Edit2: I also tried starting from https://diyelectriccar.com and searching for the thread of interest, checking that all addresses were secure. They were, and the missing content it still missing.

I'm also losing edits. The post above has Edit1: and Edit2:, which you can see by clicking on the "last edited by Coulomb" link above, then click on "compare versions". It could be that my browsers are showing me cached versions, but I've tried really hard to refresh it.

My apologies if it's a cache issue, and merely confusing the main issue of missing content.

Edit: arrgh! The editing problem is a cache issue.
Edit2: In that I can see those edits on my phone. But I can't get Firefox to show them, even after deleting cache. Or Chrome, though I didn't disable cache for it.

i did receive a reply from a VS ADMIN, Angela B., in reference to Case # 3208571. This was for an email i sent to notify them of the forum problem(s) of missing posts and threads.

"Thank you for your email. Due to a high volume of customer support related inquiries, your wait time has been longer than usual. I am sorry for any inconveniences this may be causing.

Are you still experiencing these issues?"

i replied that yes indeed we sure are. i had offered to send screenshots if it would be helpful, but those were not requested.

i reckon we'll just hang in there like a hair in a biscuit...

On this forum (EV Conversions and Builds) I can't view any threads where the last post was June 29 or older. I can see all threads and posts where the most recent post was June 30 or more recent. On the older threads I just get a page that says "Post Reply" but you can't actually do anything on that page. I can't access my build thread to post updates. It simply won't come up when I click on it from the index.
