I bought an Alfa 147 2.0 2004 and a tesla drive unit to have some fun. Summer vacation is booked, it will be in the garage :)

Idea is to build a construction and fit the driveunit directly on to the driveshaft. Batteries will probably be from Kia.

Is it crucial that the tilting is around 45deg inwards as in teslacars? I have the small front drive unit from a model S
I wouldn't say that drive unit is tilted - the motor is just placed relatively high to clear the front of the battery pack. If you mount it in any other orientation, you will need to modify the oil pickup location in the gearbox to get proper lubrication and cooling.

I will mount the driveunit to go in reverse and for that I will change the oilpump flow. For that I need to open up to get to the gearbox. I came this far as in the picture. All bolts are off still sits as rock. I figure I need to remove this wheel (in yellow) and remove the splitrings and bearings inside. Anyone who has done this who has some advise?
