Yup. Fees are nuts. Shipping is also crazy. Some yards are weasels in the way they describe the item or take pictures, others are good.
At times it's cheaper to buy a used car if bidding goes nuts on an item. All it takes at an auction is two bidders frothing at the mouth to get an item. Lately, there seem to be more people jumping in (no thanks to Rich Rebuilds), paying crazy prices for electrics.
But used cars are bonkers in cost these days with the new car supply issues, which has also driven up salvage auction bids by autobody dealers and shops in places like Mexico that have $10/day labor available.
A hobby is something that keeps you busy and makes zero economic sense. Electric car conversion is definitely a hobby 😂
