Batteries which can withstand vibrations?

1090 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Karter2
Which batteries are the best when it comes to withstanding vibrations? Cylindrical, prismatic or pouch? LiFePO4 or NMC?

Thanks,
Peter

Bump. I'm curious also. Hope someone will chime in.
I dont think the chemistry or the configutation is the determining factor, it is all down to the design of the internal components and the quality of construction.
Most cells will mechanically survive typical mobile applications, (vehicles, boats, aircraft, trucks, military equipment , etc) but if you have an extreme situation in mind you would want to go with a proven manufacturer/military supplier, such a Saft, Panasonic, Sony, etc and detail to them what the application is.
Personally, i cannot think of a use for cells where a quality 18650 or 26650 from a reputable supplier would not be suitable. Power tools and lawn mowers etc are commonlt equipped with these, and have a fairly rugged life.
