I saw this as well last night.
The samples tested are only ≈60mm x 52mm.

Low cycle count at least, and no sense of discharge rate. From what I've seen on other tech forums could be huge for stationary storage but not EV applicable yet.
Munro seems to me to be getting out the FUD to protect/promote Tesla.

This kind of announcement us way outside his wheelhouse.

If it's real, we won't see it for at least half a decade. Low C rate is not fatal - fuel cells suck in that area...the well kept secret is they have batteries AS WELL.

As a result, the standard 4 hour Viagra disclaimer applies to this news.

In light of your analysis, may I inquire as to the degree of credibility that this report possesses?

Another 500Wh/kg battery announced; this time from CATL - but zero evidence/test data I can see, just marketing spiel?
Chinese propaganda, imo.

Notice the timing of sodium batteries and this magical energy density battery?

Right after the US motivated everybody and his dog into dropping several $trillion on lithium battery factories and mining enterprises....in the US.
