BMW MINI - Converting Classic Minis to EV - Fully Reversable

Looks like BMW / MINI are coming to the EV conversion game? Will be a fully converted mini but they will keep the engine so its future proofed if you want to stick it back in?

Recharged and electrifying: the classic Mini launches into the future.

Interesting. The only really interesting technical details would be where they put the battery and how large it is, but that's the part that they don't mention.

I understand the idea of not making irreversible changes, but it seems unlikely that anyone would convert one of these cars back - it seems more likely to me that the EV components would be pulled out and replaced by better EV components in the future.

Based on range, it's likely around 16-20kWhr. Sounds like they keep the transmission, which says motor coupler/adapter in place of the ICE. Not much room left under the bonnet. Likely back seat?

The 0-100 time is not that great for some reason.
