Hi. I've been thinking about running HV cables from the front battery box to the back via the tunnel, but this option has its difficulties - where are most Electric Beetle Builders running them: along the side of the tunnel, or if inside of it, some pics or tips would be appreciated.
The problem we see with the tunnel is how to put gland nuts in the cable as it enters the tunnel. We could cut a small panel in the tunnel and run the cable through it with gland nuts, but not sure it it is worth it.
Hi. I don't think so, but I'll have a look. That is a ways away from the front batteries though, we would like to poke the cables through the tunnel in front of the firewall.
Running cables along the sides of the tunnel is pretty obvious, perhaps that is why no one else is commenting. The problem there is we want to bolt our own seats onto the floor, but not having them yet is making it a little risky.
I think most bugs' front to back cables run through the heater channels. It's not the best approach from a safety standpoint but the driver's seat is the main crumple zone anyway.
Hi. We decided to run cables through the tunnel - a little cover where they come down from the frunk into a hold cut in the tunnel. Wish us luck!
