Charge Locking Pin

389 Views 0 Replies 1 Participant Last post by  Antman
So i've been trying to find a solution for this for a while. I'm using a type 2 connector and a two wire solenoid type locking pin that needs a brief +12v and Ground to drive it in and the polarity reversed to remove.

For the firing of the pin, I did have a pair of changeover relays which were activated when a ground signal was received from the Charge controller but I didn't realise at the time that it only needed a short burst of energy and have burnt my first solenoid out. :(

So I need an alternative, I did consider adding a timer relay in but I've not worked out a way to get it to function when the ground is removed and to retract the pin.

Can anyone help with a solution..............please?
