I've just received one of these: 500VDC,30A 15kW charging power module-CHAdeMO charger,EV charger,leaf charger,Tesla charger,CCS chager-Electway Electric
It is a power supply for Chademo charging stations. The clever part is that it can be operated manually off the front panel, so not needing to be controlled through CAN-bus or RS485, as it normally would be when used inside a public charging station.
I ordered the 500V 15kW version and end voltage can be set between 200V and 500V and Max current between 0 and 37.5A. Once set, it remembers its setting at the next power up. In that respect, it works just like any other laboratory power supply
They also make a 750V 20A version for higher voltage packs and a bigger 30kW version.
It takes 3 phase 380V AC + ground (no neutral needed) and its output is isolated and protected by a beefy diode and fuse, so can be connected directly to a HV pack (naturally minding proper precharge as usual). It softs-starts in around 5 seconds ramping current up.
I paid $1200+ shipping and customs, so for the power, this price is hard to beat. I run it in parallel with my stock 3kW onboard charger, which I turn on first, to manage the main contactor anyway and I then turn on my 15kW boost charger! So now I occupy two spots at the free charging spots. Nice to only need to hang around the mall for 40 minutes instead of 2.5 hours.
