With the Leaf motor and Leaf battery, can we assume that you'll keep the stock Leaf battery configuration (electrically) and so it will run about 360 V, rather than 144V?
It's too bad you can't get enough gear reduction in the final drives to go without an extra reduction stage. If you had suitable battery voltage and short enough gearing, you wouldn't need the transmission.
