The bill requires the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to set requirements for an alert sound for hybrids and EVs operating at low speeds.

completely stupid!

How many blind people are injured or killed by being struck by a car?

When I decelerate in my F150 4x4, I have my foot off the gas and it's silent too. I can't wait to see the dB level they set so I can test my truck.

Not to mention non hybrid or electrics like the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry, which even as a completely gas car is almost silent until it gets right up on you.

right, as soon as they set the noise level I am going to complain about the gas cars that aren't loud enough either.
