Hi new to this forum so forgive me if I'm asking old questions.
1, what is the lowest voltage that the leaf motor works at?
2, Has anyone successfully used a Curtis controller on the Leaf motor?

I'm not to bothered about running for a long distance, I just dont have much room for batteries.

Why not just use the leaf inverter? There are several can bus controllers available for it

Lack of battery space and I use Curtis equipment on a daily basis so it's a cost saving too.

It will work at one volt if you can feed it enough current. Motor is motor.
You may have more issues tuning the Curtis controller though, as it's a PM motor and requires characterization or whatever Curtis does these days.

While a controller will have a minimum operating voltage, I agree that a motor simply loses performance as available voltage goes down. With very little voltage, very little speed is possible.

Probably not, because it would be unusual for anyone to use the Leaf motor if they only wanted to run at the motor speeds possible with the low-voltage Curtis controllers, or if they only wanted the power possible with a Curtis.

You may have more issues tuning the Curtis controller though, as it's a PM motor and requires characterization or whatever Curtis does these days.

True - every PM AC motor and controller combination needs this sort of setup, and it won't already be worked out for the Leaf motor with any Curtis controller.
