Hi, I'm just starting at the very first step; still a way to go to first base.

I've seen some discussion on clutch vs no clutch, but not seen anything about donor cars with automatic transmission. Is that because everyone (except me) knows it's a really bad idea or because it's so simple that it's not even worth discussing?

Any advice from experienced folks on here would be much appreciated, thank you.

It's certainly doable, but more difficult than manual. There are several threads where it has been discussed.

Search the threads. Dimitri converted an auto Mazda 323 successfully (in trems of use, conversion was great too).

Depands on alot though. CAN-BUS being the potential party pooper! And how much you know or who you know to deal with the electricery for you on the transmission...
