Hi, everyone. I am new to this forum.

I am planing to build a E-Wheel/E-Trailer for my Prius C and CX-9.

the design is putting a motor on a live axle and power the wheel and it will push the vehicle on the rear. the E-Wheel/E-Trailer will be mounted on tow hitch.

pros:
it can be removed and put to another vehicle easily.
battery can be on board or in the vehicle truck.

the concept comes from 99mpg.com

I will need more information from expert to see what size battery pack and motor I will need for a CX-9 SUV. the E-Wheel will not power the vehicle in dead stop, it will be start to give E assist when the vehicle is cruising from 20 mph to 55mph max. it will minimize the high amp draw during acceleration from dead stop.

here is few questions :
1) how many Watt hour is need for a CX-9 SUV to maintain 55mph speed max
2) since I don't need to control the speed of the motor during acceleration. is it possible to power the BUSHED DC motor without controller?
3) will a 96V 200amp DC bushed motor 19200Watt enough for a SUV 55mph max?
4) or 144V 200amp DC bushed motor 28800Watt? these are continuous rating.
5) what is the best value Lithium battery for this project?
6) question about battery. many high watt high amp charger is very expensive. Have any one heard or tried to use couple small charger to charge a the battery pack? like three 24V charger to charge a 72V pack? connect the charger in parallel with 24V battery and the battery is connected in series to make it 72V? is it possible? long charging time is no a problem. will have 20 hours up for each use of the E-wheel.

I will try to make this project cost as low as possible so more people can afford it and build one if it works great .

the design will be similar to this trailer mover but with bigger motor and mount on the tow hitch of the vehicle
